Futures Study Strategy Research kicks-Off with an Interactive session at the CEO Forum

AirportNEXT and ACI-NA kicked off the strategy research phase of the 2026 Futures Study at the 2026 ACI-NA CEO Forum in Bonita Springs, Florida. The session brought airport chief executives directly into the research process, building on the Study's initial trends survey and setting the direction for the strategy development work that follows.

The kickoff was structured as an interactive facilitation session, allowing participants to contribute in real time and respond to one another's thinking. CEOs submitted 126 strategies, comments, and replies. The discussion was organized around the four major themes that emerged from the initial trends survey completed by 320 airport executives: acceleration in risk management, advanced technology innovation & adaptation, tough business conditions & economic uncertainty, and shifting community expectations.

The strategies generated in Bonita Springs now feed into the next stage of the Study, where they will be developed, tested, and further expanded on with real world case studies.
